This has been my life for 2 weeks! |
Unfortunately about 2 weeks ago I started coming down with a cold. I thought it was just going to be a few sniffles and a little sore throat for a day or so, but I was SOOOO wrong. Monday I woke up with a little scratch in the back of my throat but really thought nothing of it. By Tuesday it turned into a pretty deep cough. That night, Kenny and I had our hospital visit. Kenny came down with a case of the "shits" and me not doing so well myself. We couldn't cancel because there really was no other time before Isaac comes to see it. So we went and promised each other not to shit ourselves and not cough in front of everyone. Well we made it through to nearly the end when I swallowed wrong and started a coughing frenzy. It wouldn't have been bad but the cough to get the saliva out of the wrong place made me cough that deep cough and made me sound like I was dying. But no one said anything and we made it through and back to the car. Wednesday I had Parent Teacher Conferences til 6pm. By 4:30 I had started to feel like a fever was coming and the congestion/mucus would not stop. I felt like my head was about to explode. Thursday came and had PTC's again until 7 and lost my voice by 6. It was horrible. My throat hurt like no other and I had to keep apologizing to the parents. When I got home I noticed a new, horrible pain; a toothache! My cold must have turned in to one of the nastiest sinus infections and traveled down to my teeth. I actually thought it may have been a cavity but read up on it and pretty much assumed it was from the cold. I literally have never felt so horrible. Being pregnant I'm not able to take any meds but gargle salt water and I broke down and took some Tylenol. By the next week, my cold is still holding on strong and the toothache has not subsided. On Tuesday, I got to work and my eyes were extremely irritated. I thought I may have been allergic to a new eyeshadow I bought. I kept rubbing them and wiping them with a Kleenex, and finally 3 hours later, once I had a break from kids, went and washed my face. I made it up to the nurse who flushed my eyes and gave me an ice pack. Within the next hour I knew I was in for it. I figured out I had pink eye in both eyes! And an extreme case!! I had to suffer until 6pm until I was able to go to the doctor's. As soon as I walked in she knew. She game me some drops and sent me home. I was in so much pain from the severe cold, toothache, and now pink eye, I wanted to cry, but knew if I did, it'd make everything worse. I took the next day off from work since I was still contagious and got some much needed rest (by the way, these last 2 weeks have pretty much been sleepless nights). Today, Friday, I am feeling sooooo much better. Just a little congestion, toothache gone, and no pink eye symptoms, just a little ache here and there. I just hope nothing else is going to come my way and start me back at square one.... What a few weeks I've had :(
Poor thing! But your post had me laughing!
