I can't believe Isaac is one month old already! I must say the first month has flown by. It was actually very easy for me, considering all of the horror stories I've heard of people's first month with a newborn. The hardest thing was knowing that Isaac was not getting enough food in the first few days. My milk supply was and is low so I had to supplement. But after I got that squared away, Isaac went back to a happy baby. He is a very alert little boy. He likes to wake up and look around, eat a bottle, and go to sleep. Sometimes he'll stay up and watch some TV with Mommy or Daddy. Right now he is eating anywhere between 2-4 ounces every feeding about every 2-3 hours. It takes me usually 2-3 pumping sessions to get enough milk for a feeding. It really sucks because it is so much work for so little. I'm not sure if it's worth the time and effort, although I know breast milk is the best so the little I can give, I'm sure is better than none! He's also a good sleeper. At night time, we lay him down around 10 and he usually gets up between 2:00 and 3:00 AM, and then every 2-3 hours after that. That first nap really helps me get some much needed sleep. Since we didn't go to his doctor for a month month check-up (we were there every week before for little visits), I did my own measurements. He weighs 7 lbs 8oz 3rd percentile, length 20.5 inches 3rd percentile, and head circumference 14.75 inches 15th percentile. So it look like we just need to get some meet on his little bones!
